Integrity, commitment, betrayal, lies.

These words, I've known what they mean for a long time.

But knowing what a word means

and experiencing the thing in your life are two very different things.

I "know" these things now as more than just words.

But before I feel too sorry for myself

I think that many other people know words like

hunger, torture, gay-bashing, racism, and cancer in ways that I don't.

There are always things to be thankful for,

I have many.
